Rugby, Eric's 25th!, Pumkins, and Fall

So this is our front porch all lit up to welcome our ward. And below is my best pumpkin carving EVER (thanks to Wes and Ambria for insisting that I come be social and attend their pumpkin carving party). The others are Erin's and Jill's masterpieces. Pretty fun. We went to a pumpkin patch for Enrichment (which now is no longer called that, but you get the idea) and so I get to carve another one which will most likely be the traditional triangle faced jack.

Ambria's birthday is the day before Eric's and since Eric was down in Provo for rugby we actually got to hang out *YAY!* which of course means special pizza factory pizzas. He ended up eating pasta and I ate his birthday pizza though. These pictures are exactly backwards out of order. And you can see his great burn from hours of rugby. Mine is more covered up--though I spent 4 hours that Saturday playing tennis with Kristy and then Gretchen. This picture is Wes, me, Ambria, and Eric.


Cutie Gretchen. I love her. And MAN, she can hit hard. This is not the most flattering picture of either of us. But I don't have any others of her, so it must be included.
I should say that things at work are getting worked out. The person that started the worst of the rumors has since quit. The rest of things are getting smoothed out. My head has not loved all the additional stress, but I think I will survive and perhaps I've even learned something from all this mess. Become a better person and learned a bit more about corporate America. sigh. Exhausted but better is still good. :)

And happy late birthday to my darling Nanny! I only got to send you a text and I'm SORRY to be such a slacker in the calling department. I'm assuming mom is keeping you up to date on what's been going on, but by the time I'm available to talk it is generally late--or early. So yeah. No excuse, but still, a reason. Love you!

Such a Ball

I may go nuts at work sometimes with the sheer craziness, but I think our new president is great (and how about this great artwork by Katri and our cool marketing team?!). I went to the ball and it was at the end of a rather insane week... I won't even start going into detail. But I'm glad that it went well and I'm happy it is over. Life is good!

Alaska

Oh my goodness. So I'm really, really behind. As per usual. Life has been exceptionally busy. BUT this weekend is the scholarship/inaugural ball and after that... well, who am I kidding? Work won't slow down, it will just be a different set of crazy.

This week Jennie is in town with cute baby, who I have yet to meet. So that's a priority as well. And I'm about to walk to a nearby gas station for some caffeine and to give her a call since apparently nights don't work as well.

Boston--out of order since this was end of July

These are taken at the library--which is one of the most magnificent buildings I have ever been in. My friend Sasha, who I met at an APRA (work) conference a few years ago was such a good sport and came with me TWICE. What a gem. Marble was imported from several countries for this main room.
If you rub this lion's tail, it is supposed to be good luck.
This is the courtyard between the old and new areas of the library. So pretty. And below is the U.S.S. Constitution (including hammocks!) and other landmarks of Boston. I went on the very touristy trolley tour for a day and enjoyed every minute.

Tahoe

I actually just got back from trip to Seattle and Alaska and realized I haven't put any of my other trips up here. Did I even put Boston? I don't think I did. I'll look later. Anyhow. Here's some pictures of Tahoe.

Happy 4th Family!

There is something so sweet about this picture to me. And not just mom's muumuu. ;)
Mom was playing with her portrait setting on her new camera--see me so seriously watching the fireworks? Yeah, very, very serious business.

He kept covering his ears. And then his nose. Didn't like the noise or the smoke.

I love Scott's grin in this one. And look! Justin was visiting us from WA. He's going to help Scott drive the moving truck over to NC.
Sprinklers have become more resistible to me... But these kids are adorable.

West Side Story Opening Night

Jo and her fam, Mom, Maren, my cute roomies, and a bunch of friends all came out to see Eric sing his first ever public solo... And his second, and third, and... :)
The video is from the bridal scene in the dress shop. There's a whole lot of kissing in this play. Hannah kept saying, "Tony and Maria are in love, right?" Eric was really good, even better than it sounds in this. The sound was a bit distorted, some mic issues. And Hannah was trying to grab the camera, so there's that too... :)
